A few words about our music projects and records.
Digital is part of the music equation.
Digital is not considered as a simple means of production or environment, but as the core of the musical essence of our compositions and works. For Dawn Wave, the digital dimension characterises the instruments we use and which influence the composition method, not to mention the music production and diffusion.
Vintage and modern synths, hybrid instruments.
At Dawn Wave, we enjoy simultaneous use of modern synths from our 2020s era, of hybrid instruments such as chords and voices, and Vintage synths. The latest date from the mythical synths eras, in the 70s and 80s, although some synthesisers moved to modernised emulation versions.
Our instrumentation draws on all synthetic instruments. From our experience, Vintage synths often bring some more soul to the perceived music, maybe because our ears have got familiar with their sounds, so popular since the 70s and 80s.
Humanising digital music is a major perspective.
As for now, Dawn Wave current projects remain purely instrumentals; they do not include human voices, although they are among the richest musical component. Our compositions include synthetic and hybrid voices.
The musical journey is the most important.
Through our musical works, we genuinely try to tell stories, to communicate feelings, to carry emotions varying and evolving with time, to bring surprising sounds, we aim at providing the auditor with new learnings, also throughout diverse musical ideas in the same piece.
Each composition or track aims at conveying the auditor to a true journey, a musical trip, a discovery through diverse, new musical landscapes, through a mind travel, of various length and deep. It should bring the auditor an artistic discovery, initiates dreams, new ideas.

Crying Kyiv
CD single
Crying Kyiv by Dawn Wave is an hybrid composition for piano, strings trio and synthesizers dedicated to the victims of Ukraine. In parallel, the B-Side Twenty - Ode to A. is dedicated to a single, beloved young person, mirroring the odd to a nation. Both tunes are hybrid compositions, mixing pianos, hybrid instruments and synthesisers.
Twenty - Ode to A. is another ode or a tribute dedicated to, not to a whole Nation as in Crying Kyiv, but to a single loved person. The composition is the second of a Piano Hybrid Project. Piano, either acoustic or hybrid, generating a cloud of particles and noises is overwhelming and dominant over synthesisers soundscapes, boosted by short and strong warm synth solos, encapsulating an extraordinarily vital life.
Ambiant Trials
CD
Ambiant Trials” CD is a first experience by Dawn Wave, an exploration in digital music, fully synthesizers-based, progressive, ambiant music or more experimental, with sounds inspired our musical roots and influence..
Inspiring powerful synthetic sounds let to the different themes, often intricate, based on tensions between past and future, between vintage and more modern digital synth, between electronic and digital age, and in a first evocation, the cohabitation tensions between man and digital. The album fro Dawn Wave mainly reflects on tensions in and between time, in an era of crisis and transformation. Compositions include an environment-related track and an AI-human collaborative composition.. A first AI -(partially) generated synth track will be included in the album.
The Ambiant Trials are for part inspired by famous progressive and electronic music references, some from German electronic music, influencing Dawn Wave, to a lower extent by UK and US electronic contemporary music. The Ambiant Trials are a primary free exploration in the open field of digital, progressive and ambiant music, using fully digital-based music.
Synthetic soundscapes draw on a small part of the multiples available synthesis techniques. This current digital synthetic works uses Vintage analog and digital synths emulations, hybrid instruments and voices.
Sounds are mostly inspired by German influences. Synthetic soundscapes draw on a small part of the multiples available synthesis techniques. (traditional Subtractive, Additive, FM, Samples, Wavetable & waveforms). Many other synthesis techniques may be explored (such as Vector, Granular, Particles, Resonance, Kernels in groups, use of VCF and Digital DCF filters, modulations and effects), and the project may be extended in further albums.
In this perspective, this first CD is encompassed into a larger musical composition project (Synth Music Project Wave 1).
American Lands
CD
“American Lands” LP by Dawn Wave is a new exploration of progressive electronic music by the band, inspired by travels, life experiences in the US, themes of the American society, such as art, culture money, politics, civil and spiritual life. Through complex and dynamic synthetic soundscapes, the music compositions apprehends mind landscapes.
Such landscapes, natural, urban, cities as well as social atmospheres are proposed in the dual form of digital mirroring images with very diverse dynamic and mixed sounds, weaved in intricate harmonies, soundscapes, polyrhythms. The album also refers to travel memories, selective, vivid, sometimes blurred, and explores remembrances of past experiences transformed by time span, and perturbed in a digital world, in an era of crisis and transformation.
"American Lands" is a powerful musical journey mostly along the West Coast and the East Coast. Tensions result from time contrasts, collisions between past and future, confrontations of vintage and modern digital synth, of vintage electronic and digital age. In background is Mankind challenged in an accelerating digital and AI world.
“American Lands” CD is a human creation of digital progressive electronic music, synthesisers-based, and part of a humain and AI collaborative project.
All “American Lands” CD music compositions are still entirely and purely human-made. They do not include any AI-produced music nor result from AI - human collaborative creative composition, AI is not used except for usual regular mixing AI-like assistants (included in mixing and mastering softwares for production). Nevertheless “American Lands” CD is part of a humain and AI collaborative project, and the AI Dimension will be developed with the oncoming CD in the next months.
Synthetic soundscapes draw on the multiples available synthesis techniques and infinite capabilities from digital . With albums opening a broader perspective of synthetic music, Dawn Wave fully digital synthetic works attempt to address a larger and full use of vintage analog and digital synths synthesisers emulations, hybrid instruments for strings, woodwinds, and synthetic voices, in their sound design and treatment as well.

Wave 3 - June 2025
Dawn Wave is working on a next innovative triptych CD album, a conceptual work, which should constitute a landmark in Dawn Wave electronic music production.
The project is ongoing, with a first CD in April 2025, and two others CD with a release planned by June 2025.

"aMerIcaN lAnds -hu” CD is a new exploration of progressive electronic music by the band, now in a more mature phase. Inspired by travels and life experiences in the United States, with powerful synthetic sounds, the music apprehends different landscapes either natural, urban and cities, and is inspired by themes of the American society such as pertaining to art, culture money, politics, civil and spiritual life. Such physical and mind “landscapes” are proposed in the form of digital mirroring landscapes with new powerful sounds, weaved in intricate soundscapes and polyrhythms. Tensions result from time contrasts, collisions between past and future, confrontations of vintage and modern digital synth, of vintage electronic and digital age. In background is Mankind challenged in an accelerating digital and AI world.
aMerIcaN lAnds -hu is a musically improved and remastered with added tracks, of the previous American Lands CD. The aMerIcaN lAnds -hu is part of the Triptych, as humane music production. Its musical material is being used for the creation of the Triptych work.
